Insiden susur sungai sempor sempat menyita perhatian publik tanah air beberapa hari yang lalu. Bagaimana tidak, sebab insiden itu hampir renggut nyawa 250 siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama di salah satu sekolah di Sleman, DIY.
Meski begitu tetap saja ada korban jiwa dalam insiden hanyutnya siswa sekolah yang sedang mengikuti kegiatan susur sungai tersebut.
Namun dari peristiwa yang menjadi pelajaran bagi semua pihak itu terdapat dua pahlawan yang memang memiliki hati mulia.
Setelah aksi heroiknya menolong para siswa SMPN 1 Turi Sleman yang terseret banjir di Sungai Sempor, Sudiro (71) dan Sudarwanto alias Kodir, mendapat uang penghargaan sebesar Rp 10 juta.
Penghargaan tersebut disampaikan Kementerian Sosial atas kerelaan dan keberanian kedua warga Desa Donokerto tersebut menolong para siswa, hari Jumat (21/2/2020).
Namun, Sudiro atau akrab dipanggil Mbah Diro dan Kodir lebih memilih menyumbangkan uang tersebut ke warga desa.
"Saya sebenarnya tidak sanggup menerima ini. Niat saya hanya menolong, karena kemanusiaan," tegas Mbah.
Namun, banyak warga yang juga ikut turun ke sungai dan menolong.
Untuk itu, dirinya memilih menyumbangkan uang tersebut untuk pembangunan masjid.
"Uang ini akan saya bagikan dan saya sumbangkan untuk membangun masjid," jelasnya.
Hal senada juga diungkapkan Kodir, dirinya hanya mengikuti insting kemanusiaan saat terjun ke sungai dan menyelamatkan para siswa.
Saat kejadian itu, Kodir akan memancing di Sungai Sempor dan Mbah Diro sedang menyapu makam yang lokasinya hanya 100 meter dari lokasi kejadian.
Banyak pelajaran yang bisa dipetik dari apa yang dilakukan oleh Kodir dan Mbah Diro, dua pahlawan sungai Sempor tersebut.
Bahwa menolong seseorang tidak perlu melulu harus menilik upah apa yang diberikan.
Bahkan mereka mengajarkan, meski bukan dari kalangan berada tetap yang menjadi nilai utama adalah kebaikan dan saling tolong menolong.

Proses evakuasi para siswa SMP Negeri 1 Turi Sleman, Yogyakarta, yang
hanyut di Sungai Sempor saat melakukan kegiatan Pramuka susur sungai.
Seperti diketahui, Wakil Bupati Sleman Sri Muslimatun juga sempat
mengunjungi rumah Kodir dan Mbah Diro untuk mengucapkan terimakasih dan
memberikan tali asih pada Senin (24/2/2020). Mbah Diro menjelaskan, saat kejadian di Sungai Sempor, tak hanya dirinya dan Kodir yang menolong para siswa.Namun, banyak warga yang juga ikut turun ke sungai dan menolong.
Untuk itu, dirinya memilih menyumbangkan uang tersebut untuk pembangunan masjid.
"Uang ini akan saya bagikan dan saya sumbangkan untuk membangun masjid," jelasnya.
Hal senada juga diungkapkan Kodir, dirinya hanya mengikuti insting kemanusiaan saat terjun ke sungai dan menyelamatkan para siswa.
